General Membership Meeting Minutes
Date: April 7, 2011
I. Call to Order
Lynne Meade called to order the regular General Membership meeting of Teamsters
Local 580 at 7:05pm on April 7, 2011 in the Union Hall at 5800 Executive Dr.
Lansing, MI. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
II. Roll Call
The following officers were present: 1Lynne Meade-President 1 Ruth Weitzel-Vice
President 1 Mike Parker-Secretary Treasurer/Principal Officer 0 Doug Withey-Recording
Secretary 1 Lyndsee Epstein-Trustee 1 Kirk Schraufnagle-Trustee 1 Sam Quon-Trustee
III. Approval of Minutes from Last Meeting
Motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the last meeting, by Kirk S.
Second by Ron W. Motion carried
IV. Secretary-Treasurers Report
The Finances are holding steady. See attached Secretary-Treasurers report
V. Business Agent’s Reports
Lynne Meade reported that she is working on leads for organizing, possibly
Schwans.
Doug Withey reported Excused due to scheduled vacation.
Mike Parker reported April 28 will be observed as workers memorial day. Active
political issues right now with the "War on Workers" legislation. Need help on
Lansing Milage vote and campaigning to approve this vital public funding.
Discussed pros and cons of a Lansing casino and the legislation and discussed
petition. Discussed and outlined the current legslation being considered and how
it will affect all workers public and private and what we as union members can
and should do.

VII. New Business
A member of the staff from LAFCU gave a brief presentation at the beginning of
the meeting to outline the benefits and services that they provide to union
members.
VIII. Good and Welfare
A drawing was held for the General Membership Meeting attendance raffle in the
amount of $200.00, and the name of member Bob Karick was drawn. The member was
not present. The amount for the next drawing will be $225.00
IX. Adjournment
A motion to Adjourn was made by Lynne M. and seconded by Mike P.. The motion
carried and the meeting adjourned at 8:30pm.
