Eaton Rapids Medical Center                 Contract Ratified .                                        A new three (3) year contract. .

Teamsters Local 580 members working at the Eaton Rapids Medical Center have overwhelmingly ratified a new three (3) year contract.  This is the third contract between the Local Union and the Hospital.  The first was settled after a two week strike.  “I am glad that we were able to settle this agreement amicably.  The Hospital pushed us past the expiration of the contract but we were able to bring back an agreement that maintains and improves health care benefits and wages.”  Said President Lynne Meade.  “It is also a special victory for me because I was able to work to improve working conditions at my former employer.  We have a way to go but it is a heck of a lot better than where we started when we organized as Teamsters 12 years ago.  The wages and benefits are much improved over where they were then not to mention the dignity and respect the members get by being under a Teamster Contract.”
